Key dates and times:

The Ballarat Begonia Festival is one of the largest and most popular regional events. The three-day festival is held over the Victorian Labour Day long weekend in March within the picturesque Ballarat Botanical Gardens and attracts over 60,000 patrons annually.
The 2020 festival will be held on Saturday 7, Sunday 8 and Monday 9 March.  The festival is opening expressions of interest for a variety of market stallholders.

    • Stallholder expression of interest due: Friday 25 October 2019
    • Successful / Unsuccessful stallholder communications: Monday 11 November 2019
    • Stallholder fees due: Friday 10 January 2020
    • Festival bump-in for stallholders: Friday 6 March 2020 (from 8:00am)
    • Begonia Festival: 7-9 March 2020 (10:00am to 5:00pm daily)
    • Restocking of stall during Begonia Festival: 8:00am to 9:00am, 7-9 March 2020
    • Festival bump-out: from 6:00pm on Monday 9 March 2020
    • Festival bump-out continued: Tuesday 10 March 2020 from 8:00am to 5:00pm

Please note:

  • Stallholders must exhibit for the three consecutive days and remain open for business from 10:00am until 5:00pm daily (festival operating hours).
  • Due to the ‘no pegging’ policy within the site (the Ballarat Botanical Gardens) the City will provide all marquees at the festival. The stallholder fee includes the hire and installation of the marquee for stallholders to trade.
  • Each stallholder must contain their stall within the marquee size selected. Stallholders shall not spill out of their marquee onto the grass or footpath. Display space above the marquee size selected can be requested at additional costs; subject to approval.
  • The Begonia Festival aims to be a single-use (PET & fossil-fuel based) plastic free event. Therefore the festival will not accept applications for certain products, i.e. balloons or similar. Please consider reusable carry bags for patron’s purchases from your stall. Strictly no single-use plastic bags.
  • The festival does not accept applications for animal nurseries, face painting, henna tattoos or similar.
  • No exhibitor will be permitted to occupy their allocated event space until all outstanding monies are paid.
  • If you would like to submit an expression of interest in trading at the festival, please complete the below form by no later than Friday 25 October 2019.  Please note: submitting an expression of interest does not guarantee you a stall at the event; should your application be successful you will be notified via email and sent an invoice for your stallholder fee.
